IMPUESTO PROGRESIVO (PROGRESSIVE
TAX)- (ECO)- One that takes a larger percentage
of income from people whose incomes are high.
IMPUESTO REGRESIVO (REGRESSIVE
TAX)- (ECO)- One which takes a larger percentage
of income from people whose income is low.
IMPUESTOS NETO (NET
TAXES)- (ECO)- Total tax revenues collected by
government at all levels minus total transfer payments
disbursed.
INDEXACION (INDEXING)-
(ECO)- A policy under which wages, interest
payments, taxes, and other things expressed in nominal
terms are revaluated upward to keep pace with inflation.
INFLACION (INFLATION)-
(ECO)- The rise in the average level of prices.
INFLACION PREMATURA (PREMATURE
INFLATION)- (ECO)- Inflation that occurs before
the economy reaches full employment.
INGRESO INCREMENTAL (INCREMENTAL
REVENUE)- (FIN)- The term which business
executives frequently use instead os "marginal
revenue".
INGRESO NACIONAL (NATIONAL
INCOME)- (ECO)- The total of all incomes,
including wages, rents, interest payments, and profits,
received by households.
INGRESO NETO (NET
INCOME)- (AC)- Net profit before taxes minus
taxes. (NI).
INGRESO OPERACIONAL
NETO (NET OPERATING INCOME)- (AC)- Income
from property or business after operating expenses have
been deducted, but before deducting income taxes and
financial expenses. (NOI).
INGRESO PERSONAL (PERSONAL
INCOME)- (ECO)- Income received by households in
return for productive services and from transfers prior
to the payments of personal taxes.
INGRESO PROMEDIO (AVERAGE
REVENUE)- (ECO)- Total revenue divided by the
number of units sold. Where there is a single price,
this price equals average revenue.
INGRESO TOTAL (TOTAL
REVENUE)- (ECO)- Selling price per unit times
the number of units sold.
INGRESOS RETENIDOS (RETAINED
EARNINGS)- (AC)- Net profits kept to accumulate
in a business after dividens are paid.
INSUMOS VARIABLE (VARIABLE
INPUTS)- (ECO)- Those inputs whose quantities
can be varied in response to short-run changes in
output.
INTERES (INTEREST)-
(ECO)- Payment for the use of money. (FIN)-
Payments made on money borrowed or received on money
lent.
INTERES COMPUESTO (COMPOUND
INTEREST)- (FIN)- Interest that is paid both on
the initial principal deposited in an account and on
interest earned on the initial principal in previous
periods. The interest earned in one period becomes, in
effect, part of the principal in a following period.
INVENTARIO PERPETUO (PERPETUAL
INVENTORY)- (AC)- Continuously updated list of
inventory levels, orders, sales and receipts for all
major items of a firm's inventory.
